Changes Citing sources
Changes Citing sources
This is a short post (hopefully). The landscape of the internet is rapidly changing, and it's become clear that there is some utility in making sure that my content remains 100% organic, meaning curated naturally by a real human.
I see a lot of helpful use-cases for AI in terms pushing my writing even further, but content saturation and writing on behalf is not one of them, and should never be the case. As a result of this conclusion, I've decided to make some changes, some that will retroactively apply to my content, and also changes going forward.

I'll start adding more hyperlinks and embedded content to my posts. There's something personable when it comes to citing sources, and a lot of my spicier takes (especially on AI) would benefit from having that sort of annotation-esk reference available. It wouldn't hurt any credibility, and if best practices still apply, would help in SEO. I'm not entirely sure how that will look, but if this site is any indication, it'll probably be different.
A different way to look at this; as a responsible internet citizen, and also a fairly established professional, I should try a bit harder to make it clear many (if not most) of my takes are driven by other content I do consume. When it comes to facts, having some links to sites that clarify wouldn't hurt, and again, might help with SEO.

But more emphasis on making sure my content makes up for the lack of "pop" styling on this website. I intentionally chose the design language of the design to bridge the gap between technical requirements and formality - but something this can come across as sterile, or rather, lab-grown instead of lively. THe only way to get around that feeling is to make sure that the sassy and quirky personality I present IRL also shines through more clearly.
Certainly, there's a time and place to apply the sass (some posts might not fit that feeling), but I think the consistency will help in that regard.
